Letter from the Leadership Council Chair
On behalf of the implementation leadership council for Partnering to End Chronic Homelessness in Guilford County, I would like to welcome you to our website. I am David S. Miller, the chair of this leadership council.
Today, we confront the complex issues of homelessness in Guilford County and have been charged with implementing Guilford County’s ten year plan to end chronic homelessness.
It is gratifying to see the support of elected officials, human service professionals, clergy, and interested community citizens. Our efforts to effectively implement a ten year plan are strengthened when we have the support of the public for our cause. As the scope of our work broadens, we are also fortunate to have as partners a growing movement of service providers, community foundations, and the business community. These partnerships are key to our effectiveness as a leadership council.
The purpose of this website is to introduce you to our mission, Guilford County’s process to develop a comprehensive ten year plan, current research and best practices, our strategy for implementing the ten year plan, and our leadership, membership, and community partners.
Thank you for your continued interest in the ten year plan and the issue of homelessness. Please continue to explore our website, educate yourself, and be aware of upcoming events so that together we can build a stronger Guilford County. I invite you to join the implementation leadership council as we embark on our journey to end chronic homelessness in Guilford County in ten years. Together we will change the lives of people in our community.
